From the Essay Scoring page you can view and score respondents’ essays one at a time. Each essay that must be scored displays an Essay Score textbox in which you can enter a score from 0 to 100. A score of 0 means the respondent will earn no points. A score of 100 means the respondent will earn all the points the question is worth. Any score between 0 and 100 means the respondent will earn partial credit using the points awarded to calculate a percentage. For example, if a question is worth 4 points and “50” is entered as the Essay Grade, the respondent will earn 2 points on that question, i.e., 50% of 4 points.
